The Kiwanis Regional Trail Authority's mission is about connecting communities. Please click the button below to find out more about our trail and many others:
· This project will connect the Kiwanis Trail from the trailhead at Green Hwy and Ives Rd into Cal Zorn Park
· The Trail route will be along Ives Road and S. Raisin Center Highway
· An 8 ft. wide asphalt shared use path will be constructed separate from the roadway
· Completion of the Tecumseh Connection will create a continuous non-motorized trail all the way from Adrian to Tecumseh
· The Trail will connect four communities – the Cities of Adrian and Tecumseh, and Adrian and Raisin Townships
· The total cost of the project is estimated at $800,000; and there is already $300,000 in grant funds available from the State of Michigan
· The communities are working together to raise the other $500,000 needed to make this project a reality
· If the funding can be secured, construction of the Tecumseh Connection will start as soon as the spring of 2021
· Repeated studies have shown that greenways and trails have a significant positive impact on property values
· Non-motorized trails become destinations for hikers, riders, walkers and other outdoor enthusiasts, resulting in increased economic activity
· 2/3 of people living in proximity to a non-motorized trail project reported an improvement in quality of life in surveys after the trail was completed
